My name is Ricki Alpine Hickstein and I am a golfer for Chadron High School in Chadron, NE. I will graduate in 2018 and wish to play at a competitive level in college golf. I have been on the varsity team every year of my high school career.
I started golfing at age 10 with my dad. We live in a rural area with limited resources for golf. I am a self- taught golfer with limited help from fellow golfers at my membership course. I have never worked with a pro or swing coach. I am dedicated to golf. I currently spend approximately 5-8 hours a day working on my game at the range and on the greens. I am self-motivated to make myself better on and off the course.
I am very hard working in the classroom as well. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.958 and my class ranking is 7 of 57, reaching the 87.72 percentile in my class. I scored a 23 on my ACT in the falI of my junior year and plan to retake the test to improve my score in the spring of my junior year.
Outside of golf and the classroom, I also play on the varsity basketball team. I have been a member of that team the last two years in which we were able to qualify for the Nebraska State Basketball Tournament.
I also enjoy spending time with my family and dog Chipper. I love to go on walks with my dog, go on motorcycle rides with my dad, and spending time with my friends and family.
