Personal Statement
My name is Angelina Huang. I’m a sophomore (Class of 2024) at Clark High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Academically, I rank in the top 2% of my class with AP Scholar Award, and I constantly excel in golf, math and chess competition. In junior golf scoreboard rankings, I’m currently ranked 5th in Nevada, 47th in my class of 2024, and 274th overall. In the past year, I have won two tournaments, placed in the top 5 (three times), and in the top 10 (six times). My most notable win was a came from behind where I shot 69 on the last day to win the tournament at FCG National Lab Day Tour. I placed in 2 top 10 finishes in AJGA Junior All Star Tournaments. I am also a co-captain at Clark High Women's Golf Team. You can learn more about me at AngelinaHuangUSA.com.
In preparation for my collegiate career, my daily routine consists of 5:30 AM gym workouts with golf practice after. I am self-motivated and focused on being the best I can be both in the classroom and in golf.
I also co-published a book, “I Want to Play College Golf!”, with my 13 years old sister, Cameron Huang, in April 2021 on Amazon.com. I Want to Play College Golf! examines junior golf and the road to college through the eyes of fifteen golf enthusiasts, including college golfers, golf instructors, professional golfers…and more. Please check out my book at IWantToPlayCollegeGolf.com. All the book proceeds have been donated back to US Golf Kids and Shriner's Children Hospital.
I am determined to be the leader of golf and my career in the future. My immediate goal is to win an AJGA tournament and get recruited by the end of my Sophomore year. My near future goal is to be a Collegiate All-American both in golf and in academic. I look forward to learning more about your program and to leading our team to a National Championship in golf.
