Personal Statement

UPDATE JANUARY 2017 -- Katie Allen has verbally committed to Creighton University.  Go Bluejays!

Katie Allen is a three-year varsity letter winner at the Albuquerque Academy High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  

Katie is a three-time state qualifier at the 5A New Mexico state championships:  she placed fifth as an eighth grader (2014) and she is a two-time individual New Mexico state champion (2015 and 2016).  Katie also helped her team win the state championship in 2015.  Katie has been co-captain of her high school varsity team since she was a sophomore.

Katie is a two-time participant in the Girls Junior America’s Cup (2015 and 2016), representing Sun Country.  She also participated in the IMG Academy Junior World Championships in 2016.  Katie posted a runner-up finish in the Sun Country Junior PGA Championship qualifier in New Mexico in 2016.  

Katie placed third in the New Mexico-West Texas Women’s Amateur in 2016.  She placed fifth in 2015.  

Katie is the only child of Mark and Carmen Allen.  She enjoys shopping, hanging out with friends, and listening to music.  Katie spends time volunteering with The First Tee of Greater Albuquerque.
