Personal Statement
My goal is to be a valuable contributing member of a collegiate women's golf team while earning an outstanding education. I am an excellent student, in class and on the course and I am a very athletic person. I have played many team and individual sports throughout my life and developed a passion for golf just before starting high school. Although I started late, I am a hard worker and my game is improving every year.
I started playing in local tournaments, outside of school, in the summer of 2012. In late 2012, I joined the New England Jr. PGA and also played in two FCWT tournaments. I am now a member of the NEJPGA, FCWT, US Challenge Cup, and the AJGA. As the New England weather allows, I play golf or practice almost every day. In the fall of 2013, I won the NHIAA girls individual championship with a score of 76. This fall, I shot an even par, 71. Even in the winter months, I train as much as possible. I work with my coaches using indoor facilities and focus my fitness routine to help with my core and swing technique.
Being the oldest in my family, I am compelled to be a leader and I never quit. I have learned the value and importance of teamwork which I will keep with me forever. I am positive that I will be a great asset to a team because I am dedicated, listen to instruction, and most importantly I consider my teammates members of my family. I care as much about my teammates as my family, friends and myself. I believe a team achieves greatness together and it is not just one person. I have no fear of chasing my goals and it is my dream to go to a good college and be able to play golf while receiving an outstanding education.
