Personal Statement
Thank you for taking a moment out of your busy schedule to learn more about me as a golfer and an individual. While I have been playing golf since I was eight years old, through country club leagues and the Highland golf club in 6th through 8th grade, it was not until I started playing at the junior varsity level in 9th grade that I began to appreciate all the sport had to offer. My golf game grew significantly as I saw more consistent play at the varsity level in the fall of my Junior year. During my last three years in high school, my scores improved significantly and I scored consistently as the 4th position of my team behind two scratch golfers and one near scratch golfer.
My first choice of Heidelberg University did not play out due to some using arising late in the admissions process. I subsequently went to the University of Akron my Freshman year so I could remain in music through the Marching Band. At that point I encountered some health issues causing me to attend Community College for 2 years while being treated for an auto-immune disorder. I currently attend Ashland University majoring in hospitality management. While I have not golfed competitively since high school, I have continued to work on my skills. Since I have not used any of my NCAA eligibility, I welcome the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level.
I appreciate your time in reviewing my profile and look forward to discussing with you how I will be a good fit for your program both competitively, academically and interpersonally.
