Personal Statement
Being on the golf course is one of my main passions in life, I love the challenges I face with each round I play, and I know golfing has helped me grow as a person, learn to think, strategize, and react to unpredictable situations on the course. I enjoy being part of a team, and having the opportunity to interact with my teammates, as well as competitors. I am confident in my ability to be a team leader, and being the only female on my team this year has allowed me to emerge as not only a leader, but as a motivator. I see myself as an asset to any team, because I bring leadership and many years of experience. Not only is golf one of my main passions, I take great pride in my academics. I would like to further my golf and academic career as I pursue my college degree in sports marketing.
I have been playing golf since I was 6 years old, I have always had a strong passion for it. One of the greatest moments in my golf career would be the 2013 District Championships where I medaled and placed 5th overall. My family has always been supportive of my golf career, which is another reason why I have such a drive to do my best and succeed. Without golf, my life would not be anywhere close to how great it is today. After golf season, I am a varsity cheerleader for my outstanding high school basketball team. I thrive in being part of yet another team and being able to enthusiastically support my school!
I love to be around my friends and family, I am very social, and I know I would thrive in an active college community.. I know how to get people to be more interested and more willing to try things through promoting a positive attitude. Playing golf in college will not only further my golf career, it will help me to continue to develop my problem solving skills, strategies for success, and achieve my goals. I believe being part of a team is very important, learning that you have to work together is one of the most valuable things I have learned as a golfer and as a person. Golf naturally is just something I love to do, and having the experience to play at the collegiate level would be a dream come true. Golf is a life-long sport, and having played collegiate golf will only make me stand out more in my post-college career. As I embark on a career in the world of marketing,I know that some of the most successful deals will be made out on the golf course. Being given the chance to play golf in college is something I hope I will have the opportunity to do, it will enable me to continue my passion, grow as a person, prepare for my future, and it will put me a step above the rest of my peers while providing me with a fulfilling lifetime experience.
