Personal Statement

Hello! Before I tell you about myself, I would like to thank you for looking at my profile. My name is Lihini Ranaweera and I'm from Cranberry Township, PA.  I am a rising senior golfer for Seneca Valley Senior High School. I've been golfing since I was 5 years old and competing since I was 7. Through this early exposure, I have developed a profound love for the game and a strong desire to better myself. In both my years playing high school golf, I was the number one player on my school’s varsity golf team.  I can promise that I will be completely devoted to being a valuable player on a collegiate golf team.

I am very open-minded about future schools but would like to academically challenge myself while also participating in a high-level golf program. I don’t have a preference on the location or size of a school, but my ideal college facilitates an environment where a sense of community is strong. In order for me to thrive in college, I’d need to find the right balance between my sport and my education. I would like the opportunity to not only grow as an athlete, but also as an aspiring computer science/mathematics major.

Thank you again for checking out my profile. I truly appreciate your consideration. I am eager to see where my future takes me!
