My name is Grace Babinchak and I have been golfing since age 8. I became serious about the sport when I was (informally) recruited to join the USGLL National Golf Team at age 12, when the coach saw me on the driving range. After competing with that team for two years against teams from around the country, I knew what I had to do to be competitive at a higher level. I have worked very hard since that time developing a consistent swing, as well as understand the mechanics of a strong short game.
My freshman year of High School, I played on the boys golf team. At the start of my Sophomore year, my school formed a girls golf team with just four women golfers. I assumed a leadership role on the team as captain and mentor to the younger girls. In only our second year (2018), we won the District II, Class AAA Districts, Regionals, and competed in the State Championship.
Between practice, leagues, conditioning, work (at a CC) and our HS schedule, I have learned to balance athletics and academics. I take Honors classes at our S.T.E.M. Charter school, maintaining First Honors and a GPA of 3.65.
