Personal Statement
Work hard play hard
Practicing, playing, getting lessons : All the things you do to prepare for a tournament. I have been playing for about 8 years now and it never gets old, striving for the success. Waiting for the changes to click and waiting for the putts to drop. The feeling I get after the hard work is shown is priceless. That's what motivates me to keep practicing everyday. I am lucky enough to attend the JPGA golf academy in Hilton Head Island for my junior and now senior year and I get to practice and play as much as I desire. I have been competing in the Hurricane Tour since I was 14. I continue to play two tournaments a month.
Academics is at the top of my list above all. I work as hard as I can to get good grades, even though it takes me a little longer than others to understand the material. Knowing that my good grades will help me get into the best school possible for golf is what motivates me the most. I will continue to strive for excellent academics as my senior year comes to an end.
Outside of golf I was a cheerleader at my high school in New York even though my parents didn't love the fact that I was being thrown around constantly, they supported my interests. I feel supporting your school in different ways is very important, it is what being apart of a team is really about. You are a little piece of the puzzle, it only works when everyone works together. My favorite part was when we all wore big bows in our hair, in uniform and painted our faces with school colors to show unity. Showing pride for my school by being a cheer leader helped not only me feel like I belonged to a family but engaged us all as a community. I hope to show as much pride and school spirt for your university as well.
