Golf just isn’t just a game but it’s part of me. I know that playing collegiate golf is my opportunity to continue to play a game that I love but also to be a part of a team with other girls who share the same interest. I have been playing golf since I was nine and learned that in order for me to excel I need to be 100% focused and committed so I can be the best.
I take golf lessons, practice to improve my golf game, enter tournaments and am always open to feedback from my coach, parents and peers so I can be the best. My commitment and willingness to learn has enabled me to have a solid drive with good control and distance. At the same time, I have a solid short game with a nice touch around the green. I believe your short game can truly help any player reduce strokes or even assist them in making up for that bad shot that happens. As for putting, I have learned that this can make or break your game. This year, I have focused on this part of the game which has become a strength in my golf game.
Because I want to continue to be the best and play collegiate golf, I have done well in school. I am a straight A student and member of the National Junior Honor Society. This year, I was picked to be a WEB leader (mentor) for incoming six graders. At the same time, I also was a member of the choir and was chosen to be in the Varsity 8th grade girls choir.
I know how fortunate I am and believe you should give back to the community. I volunteer at my church for a program called Food For Kids which provides food for students in the Denton County Independent School District. I also volunteer at the Plano Balloon Festival which benefits non-profit agencies in Collin County.
