Personal Statement
Hi,
I go by the name of Tori. I have dedicated myself to the game of golf since the age of eight, and playing competitive golf for 9 years. I earned my varsity letter as a freshman in a highly regarded Texas 5/6A high school golf program. I’ve gained excellent experience in qualifying for player position to compete in district, regional, and state tournaments for the past 3 seasons.
I suffered a reoccurring high back left shoulder inflammation injury throughout my 2014 fall and most of the 2015 reason. Despite my injury, I managed a 75 tournament scoring average in 2015. Unfortunately, I did not compete this past summer due to my injury. My MRI was negative, I learned that I was double jointed, and I that my right hip joint was "out of position" that was causing my high back inflammation. My right hip bone is back into its correct position, and now 100% healthy and competing “pain free”. I am now able to workout for long periods of time without inflammation.
I am interested in pursuing competitive golf in college where the environment and culture has an emphasis on higher academics. My career aspiration outside of golf is the medical field. As a result, I will pursue a nursing or biology major. My college experience is where I can receive an excellent education while I proudly represent my university.
Sincerely,
Tori Ramirez
