Lexie Byers '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Lexie Byers. I’m currently attending Brighton High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have played many competitive sports growing up, and  just before my freshman year of high school I realized golf was where my true talent was. I grew up in a golfing family, and a member of Willow Creek Country Club in my back yard. With those two important things in my life, golf has become my biggest passions. My brother plays collegiate golf at a division 1 school, and I hope to follow in his footsteps.

I work hard to get good grades and intend to keep my GPA high. I’ve been on the Honor Roll since 7th grade. I value my education very much, and hope to one day move on to medical school. I am a very determined and competitive person. I tend to do my best when the pressure is high. I do whatever it takes to be the best I can. I am a member of the National Honor Society at my high school, I was hand picked by my principal to be one of twenty students on the Principal’s Leadership Council, and I am the captain of my high school varsity golf team and varsity cheerleading squad. I’m 5’3”, blonde hair, blue eyes, and very athletic. Aside from golf, I love to spend time outdoors and be active. 

A unique thing about me is that I have only been playing golf since my freshman year of high school. I played competitive soccer for many years, but once my brother left to go play college golf I decided I wanted to play golf. From my freshman year to my sophomore year I went from shooting 95's to 85's, and I believe that from sophomore year, to my junior year (this coming season) I will be able to go from shooting 85's to 75's and continue to improve. 

To finish off my high school career, I am working hard to be named first team all state, finish top 10 at the 5A Utah State Championships, shoot par consistently, and master my chipping and putting to confidence.
