Personal Statement
Participating in two sports, both at the varsity level, has taught me to multi-task as well as work with other students as a team. Just this past year I was the captain of the Girls’ Golf Team. I loved having the responsibilities of a captain to be a role model and promote a positive influence on my fellow teammates. I also was the cheerleader to keep the team focused on the goal of doing their best. Making a contribution to my team coupled with the skills, confidence, and wonderful friends I have gained, has taught me the value of leadership and teamwork.
The Cedarburg School District has afforded me many academic opportunities from middle school to high school to explore and hone my personal skills. I have been striving for all A’s since the eighth grade. The time and effort I put in studying for a test or quiz supports the grade I receive. Also, the classes I chose challenged me to meet my academic goals. Working hard and persevering to excel academically has resulted in making the high honor roll every semester. There have been high and low moments through my high school career.
As a female, I realize engineering is not a traditional pathway and that there will be many challenges. However, I have never been one to give up when the going gets rough. I believe in myself and know that I can persevere. I will continue to learn and grow so I can reach my goal of being on a college golf team and an engineer.
