Personal Statement
I am currently a 11th grader in Hillsborough Virtual School in Florida. Throughout middle school I was on the Principal’s Honor Roll and a member of the National Junior Honor Society since sixth grade I even held the position of Secretary. I earned A’s and B’s in the Pre-International Baccalaureate Programme with a GPA of 4.00 at the end of my sophomore year. I have participated in many community service projects and still continue to do so, including: the Cancer Walk, Food Drive for a migrant worker camp, Coastal Clean-up, Tampa Bay Estuary environmental programs including coral reef rebuilding, and planting sea grasses. I believe being active, participatory and dedicated in all aspects of my life is preparing me for a strong, successful and fulfilling lifetime full of achievements.
I grew my interest in hockey around the middle of my 5th grade year. Since then, I have been striving to always improve on any skills that could lead me to my goals. I started playing hockey in the summer of my 6th grade year. I started out with Learn to Skate classes and Hockey 101. I also had private skating lessons with a figure skating coach, which strengthened my skating skills to play better hockey. I played on co-ed house leagues for 3 seasons at Brandon Ice Sports Forum. I have played on a U14 girl’s travel hockey team, a U16 girl's travel hockey team and also on a U19 girl’s travel hockey team. I have also played on Varsity Boys High School Hockey Team.
From the time I started learning to skate to the time I started playing hockey with the girl’s team, I have participated in many camps, clinics, and private lessons with several different hockey coaches. I love to play hockey and my goal is to play on the Women’s USA Olympic Team and to play in college.
Apart from my hockey I also have many academic goals I strive to reach and maintain. I would like to further a career in Veterinary Medicine.
