Personal Statement
My love for being on the ice began when I was two years old. As soon as I started playing hockey at age ten, I knew I wanted to compete at the college level. I am a strong leader on and off the ice and am always there to help my team mates along with keeping them positive and motivated. I continuously strive to be the best I can be while consistently looking for opportunities to improve my athletic and leadership skills. As a goal tender I am able to read situations and readily adapt. I am also very teachable and pick up on new techniques quickly. When I am not on the ice with my team, I look for every opportunity to be on the ice teaching younger kids how to play hockey.
Off the ice I am a dedicated student working diligently to maintain a high G.P.A. Along with my academics, I perform in my schools' orchestra where I play viola. I also volunteer with SAFEO, a non profit organization that raises awareness for sports related concussions.
For my field of study, I am interested in sports medicine and physical therapy. I want to pursue a career where I can stay in the sports environment and also help people. I am interested in a college that is looking for a strong, aggressive goalie who will contribute to her team while she balances her time as an outstanding student.
