The ice rink has always been a special place for me, even before I started playing hockey. My journey began at 5 when I laced up my figure skates for the first time. However, it wasn't long before I traded my figure skates in for hockey skates, and those for goalie skates. For me, playing high school hockey has always been about more than just winning games, it's taught me the importance of leadership, communication, and balance. Hockey has been a motivating force in my life to better myself by staying active, making friends with teammates, and always putting myself in a position to do the best I can for my team. It is because of this that I want to keep playing at the college level.
Off the ice, I spend a lot of time working hard at school, attending and leading clubs, and doing work for rigorous classes. Still, hockey influences what I do with my time from working as a referee to the people I hang out with. The community hockey has given me is the largest source of my love for the sport. As I look towards the future, I hope to continue my academic and pathetic journey in college.
