Personal Statement
My name is Ashley Jerikovsky from South St. Paul, MN. I have been skating since I was 4 years old and playing hockey since the age of 6 and look forward to coaching for Minnesota Selects this year. My passion for hockey is strong and I enjoy watching games at home with my dad to learn from the Pros. I’m a positive team player who tries to consistently improve my skills as well as helping the team to become better as a whole. My goal is to practice just as hard as I would play in a game. Throughout the year I train 3-4 times a week at the gym and in hockey camp as well as practice my stick handling and shooting pucks out back so that I can be a better player on and off the ice. I am a very upbeat, likeable, positive, coachable, two way player who is confident with my academic studies and enjoys being a part of a well coached team that puts in the time to be a success!
When we lost our first game in the State Tournament in 2019, I learned how to move on and to become stronger and better for the next opportunity. As my grandpa taught me, "Character is built in the flames of adversity." I believe that we change for the better when we go through losses.
I'm looking forward to finding the right school and the right hockey team where I can have a great education and make a difference!
A goal that I have is to play hockey in college as well as getting a good education in Psychology. My passion is to help others and look forward to applying that in my career. My motto is to go the extra mile and do just a little more than others would either in the classroom or on the ice.
