Personal Statement
My name is Jordyn Tomaszewski and I am a Senior at St. John’s Prep in Collegeville, MN. I am a hockey goalie and I have played that position for seven years now. I just finished my third year as the varsity goalie, receiving All Conference, All Section, Times All Team, nominated Player of the Year. Academically, I have received my Varsity Letter for hockey every year, as well as making Principal's List.
I play for the Junior Whitecaps and MN Elite League. I helped my Elite League Sky team beat Shattuck St Marys for a spot at Nationals in a double overtime game last season. Looking forward to playing again on the U19 team this fall!
Many coaches have commented on how hard I work and how dedicated I am. I give 100% of my effort to my team and my commitment to get better every day. I absolutely love being on the ice and stopping pucks!
I apply this same work ethic towards my school and school work! I love the sciences, and I am in my 5th year of German. When not on the ice I enjoy intramural sports, aviation club, German club and orchestra. This year I have joined my high school soccer team, playing goalie for the Varsity team.
Although, I have not yet decided on a major, I know I want to do something where I can make a difference in our complex world.
My other passion is my Cello. I have been playing for 6 years. I also play guitar, violin and piano. It is not uncommon to see me bringing my guitar with me to away tournaments. They say a goalie that plays stringed instruments tends to be stronger in the net because of stronger hand-eye coordination. Take Ryan Miller for example!
I am excited to be searching for my next school, where I can continue to develop as a student athlete, and make a difference for my team!
