Personal Statement
I am going to attend a college or university with a reputation for academics and athletics. I have traveled from Minnesota to the east coast for the past 5 years playing in 15 tournaments with my off season team. I would love to attend a college or university in NY, MA, CT, VT, ME, NH, RI, or PA. My goal with my college team will be to do what it takes to win conference titles and national titles by listening to my coaches and teammates, being physically and mentally prepared for anything that comes our way. Midwest schools are not out of the question if it was a good fit. I am currently undecided in my course of study with a few areas I am interested in pursuing. I am a good candidate for your team because I have been and will continue to be a positive, trusted, role model in the locker room, in the weight room, in practice, in games, in the classroom, in the community. I was voted Assistant Captain in 2013-14 and Captain in 2014-15 by my high school team. In 2011-12 and 2012-13 my high school team appeared in the Minnesota State High School League Tournament, one of the best tournament settings in the country. On your team I will bring the experiences I learned leading my high school team, accepting my new role of listening and learning from all the coaches and teammates. I will also bring the experiences of working through and resolving hockey or life speed bumps that will also come along the way. In my field of study and campus life I will use my experiences from school and life here in Minnesota, on and off the ice lessons learned, working to be the best student I can be. I will be an extremely proud representative of my team and college. After graduation I will be a supporter of the school and hockey program. It is said that that past performance and behavior is the best predictor of future performance and behavior. I believe I have what your looking for as a student, athlete, teammate, school representative, and community member. I am excited to find the right fit for me in this process. Thank You for taking the time to learn more about me.
Sincerely,
