Personal Statement
My name is Hannah Bedore, I am a 15 year old Sophomore at Papillion La Vista High School. I live in La Vista which is 20 minutes away from downtown Omaha, Nebraska. I began playing roller hockey on a house team at age 7, and I was immediately hooked! A year later I joined a traveling team and never looked back. I continue to play roller hockey in house leagues, on travel teams, and representing my state. In 2012, I joined the Omaha Hockey Club's (OHC) Omaha Lady Jr Lancers 12U hockey team competing in the OHC House Squirt Division against boys teams. A year later, I was the leading scorer in which I led my team to a win in the Championship game. In 2013, at the age of 13, I was invited to play on the Omaha Lady Jr Lancers (OLJL) 19U-A (Varsity) hockey team. We competed in the Heartland Girls League at the 19U level and outscored opponents 170-40. We finished on top of our division in the regular season and placed 3rd in the playoffs. I made the 19U-A team again last year where we competed as Independents in tournaments and several friendly games ending the season with a 20-11-1 record. This year I am playing on the OLJL 19U-A team and am very excited to be back on the ice, compete, and see my teammates on a more regular basis!
I believe I would be a great candidate because I'm a hard worker and I'm driven. My attitude on and off the ice is positive, and my coaches say that I am energetic and very coachable. My fellow players believe me to be easy to work with and a great teammate. My goals are to play hockey at a collegiate level, get a great education, and grow as a player and a person through hard work and perseverance.
