Personal Statement

The feeling of the wind against my face as I sprint down the ice, the feeling of accomplishment after a battle in the corner, the feeling as I watch the puck cross the goal line, these are the moments I live for.  I live for hockey.  I would do anything for my teammates, fans, and the sport itself.  I have so much passion and heart which has been driving me to accomplish my goal of playing Women’s College Hockey.

Growing up in rural Alaska has helped shaped my character.  Nothing is easy living here, but with hardwork, teamwork, and commitment, you can be successful.  We didn’t have a competitive girl’s hockey team in our small community, so we created one making it all the way to the National Tournament.  Entering my sophomore year, it was apparent I had to go elsewhere to achieve my dream.  I was so fortunate that Coach Craig Churchill reached out and led me to New Hampton School.  At NHS I have played with girls and against teams that I could have never done in Alaska.  I have grown in every facet of the game, and believe I have just scratched the surface.

As you review my academic achievements, you will notice my work ethic and focus continues.  I have earned a 4.0 since I was able to receive letter grades.  I have also taken the most challenging classes available.  I have received various academic awards from honor roll to a national environmental competition.

I am a strong, passionate, coachable, and hardworking leader with a strong desire to play college hockey.   I am excited for the upcoming years ahead, because I know there is a perfect school and team for me out there that I would be honored to be apart of.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
