Personal Statement

My name is Kendal Newberry.  I have been playing goalie for 10+ years. I graduated in the year 2017, 8 months earlier then I was scheduled to and have been working hard to maintain my 3.0 GPA and bringing my ACT above a 23.  I will be looking for a school that I can continue with my passion for the sport of Ice Hockey while attending.  I am 5'6'', weight of 130lbs, and a competitive fitness athlete which packs me with plenty of strength and power.  I finished my Junior year playing on a first year Tier I U19 team and 2 different Varsity HS teams. I have played on both new teams and first year Tier 1 programs over the last few years, and I have consistently averaged over 55 shots a game. I have repeatedly seen the players and Goalies leave these teams due to the pressure.  I however do not quit on my teams and have used these opportunities to better my game and leadership skills by working harder.  I found that any player can play on a strong team,  but it takes a stronger player to play on a weaker team and not give up.  I am that stronger player both mentally and physically that never gives up.  I developed my game well over any of the other Goalies that I have watched or played at this level.  After playing against some of the top recruits in the nation, I have found that not only can I match their skill level but in most cases I can beat them one on one.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
