Personal Statement
I grew up in a hockey family – my dad coached and my brother and I played. I started skating when I was four years old and I’ve lived in a hockey rink ever since. I’ve grown to love the game of hockey and I know that my goal is to play at the highest level possible. I currently play for the Aberdeen Lady Cougars, the U19 South Dakota Girls National Team, and the AAA Minnesota Mustangs summer hockey team. I am dedicated toward being a college athlete – along with skating, I work with a strength and agility coach 2-3 times a week. Some of my biggest strengths include my desire to dig in the corners, be a physical presence, and make plays on both ends of the ice. I want to attend a college where I can be challenged to grow both athletically and academically. I want a university where I can play college hockey at the highest level of competition while earning a degree in Biology so that I can practice as a small animal Veterinarian.
