Personal Statement
One day I came to my parents and to their surprise, I said I wanted to play hockey; the rest is history. Soon after the dreams started to be sought out, Collegiate goals of being one hand of 20 holding up that championship trophy, Olympic dreams of biting down on that gold with our anthem playing. When the dreams come, so does the hard work, and I understand that. I have been recognized by Travel coaches, College coaches, and alumni players on my coachability and leadership skills. Those are just a few of many great characteristics I hope to bring to the table with YOUR team.
Academically, I stand out from other recruits because I have taken honors courses and look forward to taking more, as well as AP classes. In school, I am on the leadership team with our chapter of Best Buddies and loving every minute of it. I have had the privilege to play on our all-boys Varsity Ice Hockey Team since I was a freshman, and will strive to do so the rest of my highschool career.
Athletically, I find myself different than the rest because I have something that cannot be taught: coachability. We have all heard the word and it's what coaches are talking about, but I understand it. It means to have an open mind to other strategies and to critique yours accordingly.
