Personal Statement
I started my hockey career playing roller hockey when I was eight years old. Since then I have been on Arizona's State Wars team and NARCH Championship team. I have also been on the Team USA West for the International Junior Olympics Roller Hockey tournament in 2012. We placed first, and I won the goalie competition. I have been sent to District Camp four times (first two to the Rocky Mountain District Camp (2013-2014), third and fourth to the Multi-District Camp (2015-2016) and twice to the National Player Development Camp. I am now one of two goaltenders to play for Vermont Academy's Girl's Varsity Hockey team. During the 2015-2016 season, I was ranked 2nd goaltender in Division 2.
I have held many leadership roles in my life, including being the president of my freshman and sophomore classes. Although I have had great success in the classroom, I believe that you should never stop trying to improve yourself. This mindset is evident on the ice, as I always try to better even my strong skills. Playing other sports, including crew and field hockey, have helped me to become a fantastic all around athlete and teach me the importance of having fun while staying competitive. My goal for college is to be the best leader I can, work hard in all aspects of my life, and make lasting memories.
Because of these successes on and off the ice, I cannot wait to see what I can bring to my college team I have helped in food drives during the holiday season, and have helped the local elementary school students near Vermont Academy. I believe my tough work ethic, consistent academic performances, and love for my community and sport will help me achieve my goals in college and beyond.
