Academically, I love to read and write. I excel in math and sciences, which I definitely enjoy the most. I like to achieve good grades and maintain them as much as possible. In middle school, I often received awards for outstanding work in my classes. At the high school, I am also involved as a class representative in student council, and in varsity club. Another area I excel at would be art! My academics are my first and foremost priority altogether. I believe I have the speed, strength, and size to get to the next level to play college hockey. I am well dedicated to hockey and will strive to be the best I can be. I moved up to the varsity level, starting as an eighth grader and played regularly, also winning the state title two years ago. I know what it’s like to win big and also the feeling of a heart breaking loss. Experiencing those tough losses; I will push myself so my team and I won’t have to go through any of that. I’m an easily coach-able player and I can be ready for any challenge thrown at me. I believe I would be a great addition to play on a college team because I will be dedicated, give my all, and I won’t let anyone on my team down.
I have also lost one of my close friends who was murdered 4 years ago in 6th grade. The effect on me was like no other. It felt as though I had lost a part of me that I'd never gain back again. Focusing on my work and hockey has definitely helped me ignore them and push passed both of those devastating times. Going to a college, and playing the game I love, I believe it will keep me in a positive mindset. After these experiences that I’ve overcome, I believe I’m a better student and athlete than most of my peers.
