Victoria Scharkov '20 Recruiting Profile

Growing up in Toronto, Ontario hockey has always been a huge part of my life. At the age of 5 my hockey career had begun and I was quickly advancing to the next level each year. Ever since I was a young child my dream has been to play at the collegiate level. I am ready to do whatever it takes to make that dream a reality because I know playing at that intensity will benefit me on and off the ice for the rest of my life. 

I am a very passionate and determined player. Throughout the many different teams I have played on, I have always been known to be a team leader. I take every game and practice seriously and will always aim to be the most hardworking overall player. For the past two seasons, this year marking the third, I have been the only goalie on my team creating more experience in my game. Being the only goalie on the team has also helped me focus over the years and see where I must improve. 

When I am not on the ice, I am a hardworking student in the classroom. My teachers describe me as a positive, and compassionate student. I maintain a GPA of 3.8 and I am extremely determined to keep my grades at a high. I care deeply to improve my skills in the classroom just as I do on the ice. Furthermore, I also spend my time volunteering for the younger players at my hockey association.

My goal is to attend a college of the highest level of competition that matches my academic ambitions.
