I like sports but I love lacrosse. I have been in a variety of sports since I was old enough to play but when I started playing lacrosse in elementary school I found my passion and it has been my favorite sport ever since. During my freshman year of high school, I continued other sports like basketball and cross country but found that I was participating as a way to stay in shape for the lacrosse season.
I was a late bloomer and during my Junior year was just starting to physically mature. Watching my close friends mature before me pushed me to have to work extra hard to keep up physically. This drive to keep up has helped me excel on the field. Despite my size, I found that I was still able to compete and was only outscored this year by one of my best friends who has a verbal offer to the University of Oregon. Early on, my size also forced me to work on my fundamentals. I realized that I would need to be able to cradle, pass, and shoot with both hands as a way to compensate.
My parents have supported me through all of it. I think I get my work ethic from my mom who showed me how to put my all into all I do. I work very hard in the classroom to keep my grades up as well as on the field to help my team win. My dad was one of my first coaches when he volunteered to coach my kindergarten t-ball team. Since then he has coached me in basketball and lacrosse. Together they raised me to respect the game, my coaches, and my responsibility as a student. I know that I would be an asset to any team in many different ways because I know how to be coached, be a team player and I know how to lead.
