Personal Statement
Hi my name is Maeve Sweeney. I am currently a Sophomore at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts Highschool in Chicago, Illinois. I first started playing lacrosse my freshman year. As the year went on I soon came to realize that lacrosse is my passion. I love everything about it and it would not only be an honor but a dream to play in college. After seeing how much i love lacrosse I decided to play for a Lakeshore Lacrosse club team. Our team came in 2nd in the regular season, but were recognized as the Elite Champions. I am proud to say i started every game as a low defender. I am a very bright person on and off the field. I have much respect for my coaches and teammates and not only listen well but learn quickly too. If I do recieve the honor of playing on a college team I hope I could really make an impact to the team. I know i would give my 100% all the time.
As far as looking at colleges, I am open to any different types of schools. Size is no matter to me as well as geographic regions or locations. Academically, I would like to strive in school and do my best to achieve great grades. I would really like to major in peadiatric oncology, or at least get into the medical field.
I am able to balance both lacrosse and school. I am well aware of the fact that school comes first. That is why I would like to go to a college that can not only offer lacrosse as a possibility, but can offer a great school with an outstanding community and magnificent acedemic standards. I look forward to reaching out to coaches and broadening my view on colleges. Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me!
