Personal Statement
My name is Abbey Pouba and my goal is to be a collegiate lacrosse player at a great school. I play for True Lacrosse 2018 National Travel and for Lyons Township High School on their Varsity team. I am #7 for both my club and High school team.
I am a committed academic student. Currently my GPA is 4.92 weighted, and I am enrolled in Advanced Placement, honors and accelerated courses primarily. I have been on High Honor roll both semesters of my freshman year, sophomore, and junior year. My course choices reflect my intention to study architecture, computer science, graphic design or something near those fields.
Besides playing lacrosse my extracurricular activities include the Best Buddies Program, Peer Leadership, Peer Tutoring for Italian, and working as a youth lacrosse referee for IGLA.
This past season I earned a spot on the varsity lacrosse team for the third year, and started every game as Attack. Currently, I play attack for my club team, and transition to midfield in games. I also played attack and defense for the Illinois 2018 team at the Brine National Lacrosse Classic the summer of 2015. I am 5’5”, 125 pounds. I train a minimum 3-4 sessions a week at GetFast, Inc for speed, strength and agility work in addition to high school and club team practices. Wallball is a daily commitment, as well as shooting on my goal at home.
Lacrosse is my passion. I love going to practice, being pushed by great coaches and hanging with my teammates. I wish the games didn't end!
This season I am excited to receive your attention and play my heart out!
Thank you for your interest,
Abbey Pouba
