I am very interested in playing lacrosse in college, I have loved lacrosse ever since I was little and it has shaped who I am today. It has shown me how to be a leader, and how to work with other people.
I am a rising junior at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD. I played both my freshman and sophomore years as a starting midfielder/attacker on the varsity lacrosse team. This year as a sophomore I earned a variety of awards, both academic and athletic. My head coach Katie Bitonti’s email is [email protected] and her cell phone number is (240)535-2812. My jersey number is 11.
I play club lacrosse for MC Elite as a midfielder/attacker. My head coach is Jennifer Buckley and her email is [email protected] and her cell phone number is (202)550-9949. My jersey number is 45.
This past year I participated in a program for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), called Student of the Year. This experience taught me so many priceless life lessons, it was hard work and there were so many points in the 4 weeks of the competition where I wanted to give up. I never gave up; I kept working, and when if you never give up you will get the results that you worked so intensely for. It was not just amazing to win, but the feeling we got from helping other people and being able to make such an impact was incredible. The objective was for your team to raise the most money in a month, 16 teams competed. My team included my best friend Jessica and I. We won, raising the most money finishing over $75,000. All of the teams combined raised over $400,000. It was amazing to be able to have such an impact not only in the competition, but also on all of the LLS community. The winning team received a scholarship for college, but my team and I thought it was appropriate to donate the awarded money to the sponsored patient, Andrew Christianson, who was suffering from Leukemia himself. It was not just amazing to win, but the feeling we got from helping other people and being able to make such an impact was incredible.
During the school year, I am committed to keeping to my studies while balancing lacrosse and everything else going on around me. My accumulative GPA from sophomore year was 3.65, while enrolled in 3 honors classes and 1 AP coarse. At school I am involved in the Best Buddies club that deals with disabled kids at my school.
