Personal Statement
This upcoming semester, I will be a sophomore. In my freshman year at McKendree University, I took 32 credit hours and ended with a 3.88 gpa. I aspire to play college lacrosse and major in biology or health and wellness. I aspire to then go into nursing school. When I graduate from college, I wish to be a pediatric nurse in a children's hospital. My goal is to help people - Whether it be my defensive team or sick children. I value hard work; I don't expect things to be handed right to me. I believe that trying hard and giving your all will accomplish what you want. As a goalie, I believe that the goalkeeper is the defensive leader. We must lead by example. Whether we are losing by 10 in the second half, tied head-to-head, or up by 10, I am always positive with my team. I believe that winning comes in many forms: the exhilaration of a game played well where the score reflects our team on top, but also and more importantly, the pride of knowing I have acted with integrity as a member of the team, and I have given 100% of my effort for the game.
