Growing up, I haven't always been the top of the class academic-wise. When I came to high school, I realized the importance of academics and athletics. Next year will be my 8th year playing lacrosse and 12th year on the swim team. I always thought I would end up being a swimmer in college, but have really found a deep love for lacrosse. I double in positions as a low defender and low attack player. I stepped up and played goalie this year when our goalie got injured. I felt as though I could anticipate what attack players were going to do seeing as I am one. I would love to play in college and find what position a college coach thinks really suits me. I have always been told I am outgoing and enthusiastic on the sidelines, making for a good teamate. Being enthusiastic and social has always been my strongest characteristic. In middle school, I won an enthusiasm award for my athletics. At my summer camp, we particpate in Olympics week where we are divided up into countires and compete against one another in sports such as swimming, lacrosse, running, kayaking, sailing, soccer, and basketball and we run the "Ironwoman" challenge which a camper gets selected to do. I have always been selected to participate in the Ironwoman competition and win awards for team support. My former sports in my past have included volleyball, basketball, soccer, swimming and lacrosse. I enjoy english and writing in academics. Math and science have been a challenge for me, but I perservere until I understand the concepts presented in class and get the correct answer. One of my strengths is that I participate in class quite a bit and even if I'm not certain of the answer, I feel that the best way to learn is to offer my opinion or thought and learn from my mistakes.
In summary, I am a strong teammate. I enjoy playing all positions in lacrosse, although my favorite position would be attack. I am flexible and willing to play in another position to fill the need of the team. I perservere through difficult situations, seeking guidance when needed but I am not afraid to step forward and make my thoughts known. I am a cheerleader for my teamates, and provide support to them when things are not going well for us as a team, or them as individuals.
