Hello. I am Georgie Greenwald, a sophomore at Red Bank Regional High School. Lacrosse has been a passion of mine since I was eight. I knew lacrosse was the sport for me. I learned how to play during clinics at Goodsports Complex and later that year joined Mavericks. I played for the Mavericks for several years and was approached often by coaches "Good Job #3, you're an excellent player." I eventually joined my hometown team in Little Silver. I had great success on the team. I also played other sports such as basketball, swimming, soccer and dance (competitively). All these sports have benefited me in lacrosse especially the footwork in dance has definitely helped me on the field. But lacrosse is still my number number 1! I have developed strong stick skills and became quite aggressive on the field. As freshman year approached, I was excited to begin my high school lacrosse career. After the first couple of practices, the varsity head coach and captains approached me to play on the varsity team. They recognized my size, ability and motivation to play! I practiced with varsity that day and knew I would have to make a difficult decision. Playing on varsity would be an honor but also I would have less playing time as a freshman. I chose to stay in the freshman team. I knew I would benefit more by having more playing time. I also started and played every JV game. I knew here my ability would stand out on the field. At the end of the season I was awarded MVP. I had 23 goals on the freshman team not including the many more goals on JV. I am looking forward to the 2014 lacrosse season!
It is a dream of mine to play college lacrosse. I am aggressive on the field and of course my height is a strength! I am a hard worker and quick learner. My position is attack and scoring is my strength. I am always looking to grow as a player. I feel it would impossible to give up lacrosse after high school. I have so much to offer toward college lacrosse and I promise not let you down!
