Shannon Pullar '18 Recruiting Profile

I love Lacrosse. I have only been playing for 3 years since there were no youth Lacrosse programs available near my town. I am currently a sophomore, Class of 2018, at John S. Burke Catholic High School where I play at the Varsity level in Soccer, Basketball and Lacrosse. I have been playing organized sports since I was 5 and love being part of a team that works together and helps each other through good times and bad.

Eight Grade was my first year of playing Lacrosse, my coach told me that my years of soccer and basketball would be a great start for understanding Lacrosse, which it did, by the end of the season I was taking draws and among the teams leading scorers. In 9^th grade my High School Lacrosse year found me starting on the JV team where I played midfield and was a draw specialist. I was the teams leading scorer and named the Most Valuable Player. My performance through the first few weeks was enough to have the Varsity Coach call me up to the Varsity Team. My Sophomore season I started on Varsity and was second team All-Section. This past Season, my junior year I was named team Most Valuable Player and First Team All-Stars for NYS Section 9

Currently I am playing for 2 travel Lacrosse programs so am playing year round and I am now sure that this is where I belong and wish to continue playing throughout my college years. With the Hudson Valley Express and Monroe Woodbury Club Teams I am a member of the 2017/2018 team. 

At Burke Catholic, I am enrolled in Honors Classes and carry a 3.4 GPA. I am my class Vice President, member of the School Newspaper Staff and member of the Father Michael Judge Society that performs charitable and volunteer work in the community. I continue to work with the Catholic Elementary/Middle School that I graduated from volunteering my time to help with the Basketball Program.

I believe that my leadership skills, constant desire to improve by accepting new challenges, enthusiasm and desire to be the best that I can be will make me a valuable member of any college Lacrosse Program.
