Jocelyn Welberg '16 Recruiting Profile

I started playing lacrosse in 3rd grade, but also kept playing other sports along the way (basketball and soccer).  I am a multi-sport athlete who has succeeded playing all three sports at the varsity level, although lacrosse has always been my number 1 love.  I am currently the starting point guard/team captain for my varsity basketball team, and also a starting mid-fielder/team captain for my varsity lacrosse team.  In lacrosse, I rank #2 in the state of Oregon currently for assists, and #10 overall in points per game.  This 2015 season I was selected as 1st team all-conference for the 3rd straight year, and then was voted 2nd team all-state as a midfielder.  I just found out that I was nominated as a 2015 honorable mention All-American as well.  Very exciting!

I am a natural leader and choose to lead by example, although I am a friend to everyone.  Relationships with people are very important to me, as well as my faith in God, and commitment to my family.  I bring well-rounded strength to a team because of my work ethic, loyalty, and respect for teammates and coaches.  I bring this same focus to my academics, especially this year as I've realized the need to do in the classroom what I do on the field.  I believe that I would be a great addition to your team...the spark and inspiration you are looking for in a team-player and athlete.
