Personal Statement
Aleksa Allen... A dedicated, driven, and competitive lacrosse player with a hunger to prove myself athletically and academically. Selected for the Utah/Idaho regional national team every year since 8th grade, all region attack as freshman, all state midfield second team as sophomore, awarded "Player to Watch" freshman year, captain of my varsity team as a sophomore, named to the Under Armour Underclass Highlight roster for the 2017 Southwest Region, named to the 2017 All Tournament BOW Team (Finish Line-Under Armour). Just completed my 2nd season (sophomore) on my DI varsity high school team and finished the season as a well-rounded player ranking in the top 12 in the state in Shots on Goal, Goals, Assists, Points per Game, Ground Balls, Caused Turnovers and Draw Controls. As a primary cornerstone of my team, I was instrumental in leading my team to the DI state championship playoffs taking 2nd in state. I play on numerous club and competition teams across the state which has improved my lacrosse IQ by allowing me to keep an open mind about the game of lacrosse as I encounter various coaching styles, game strategies, and training techniques. I am also motivated in my scholastic efforts always keeping a very high GPA while taking difficult coursework to prepare me for college. I further dedicate time each month to volunteering around my community as part of my involvement with the National Junior Honor Society as well as volunteering with the youth lacrosse program in our community to help grow the sport in our region.
