Personal Statement
My name is Zoe Listro, I'm 5'8" and 130 pounds, and am currently a sophmore at Randolph Union High School in Randolph, Vermont. I started playing lacrosse in junior high, and by freshman year I realized that it was one of my biggest passions. I go to a small school, and there isn't as much interest in lacrosse as there is in baseball or softball, so instead of having both JV and varsity, we only have a large varsity team. That being said, I have started every single game I've played. On my team we always have to work hard to get and/or keep starting positions, so I work hard during the offseason to stay in shape in order to play my hardest. I have a good work ethic and always stive to make a positive impact on both myself and my team.
I'm open to lots of different schools, anywhere in the country, but since I've grown up in a small town, I would really like to go to a larger school, to be in a new environment. I am also mostly looking at DII or DIII schools, as opposed to DI.
My parents make ends meet financially, but sometimes it's a bit of a struggle, so paying for college will be a stretch, considering I have a sister who is just a year older than me, who is also planning on attending college. I am really striving to earn academic scholarships in order to help pay for college.
I haven't decided on a major yet, but right now I'm leaning towards Buisness or English, but I am still open to new ideas and opportunities.
Finally, my goals as a college athelete would be to, however small, make a difference in the athletic world, and be proud of my athletic accomplishments.
