Personal Statement
My goal is to play college lacrosse at the college that is the right fit for me in both academics and athletics. Above all, I want to be happy playing the sport I love so much.
l now live in Eastern Saudi Arabia(moved from Washington State) with my family as my Dad is Principal of Dhahran Academy High School. I remain active in lacrosse it just is a little more challenging! I am determined to reach my goals of playing lacrosse in college. I travel back to the US for tournaments during the school year and because there really is no lacrosse in the middle east, I have started and coach lacrosse clubs at my high school and nearby elementary school. During the summers I will also be back in the US and attending as many camps and tournaments I can. My commitment and love of lacrosse make me different from other players. Most people have lacrosse handed to me them, where I have to find lacrosse, fly across the world for lacrosse, or make my own lacrosse experiences!
I am also a very committed student with a 3.6 gpa. My parents have taught me hard work pays off and I work hard both in the classroom and on the field.
I am very coachable and a team player. I am a "team first" player and will do whatever my coaches ask me to do. I play both Field and Box lacrosse in the US and Canada. I believe my years of playing box lacrosse separates me from other US players as I am aggressive, enjoy the contact, understand how to move the ball in small space, how to move to open space and I have really good stick skills. I also like the quickness of the box game, it's fast paced and fun. Playing box has helped my field game as I am able to move in traffic and can pass/shoot while having players on me.
During high school, I have also competed in many other sports: cross country, track, and wrestling. In fact, I earned my 1st varsity letter as a 9th grader in wrestling and it made it to Districts. I am a very versatile athlete and have earned varsity letters in seven different sports: wrestling, track, volleyball, soccer, basketball, netball and of course lacrosse.
