Personal Statement
My name is Susan Floyd and I would like to introduce myself. I am 16 years old and a Sophomore at Decatur High School in Decatur, AL. I am an attacking or defensive midfielder. I have played at three different clubs, each one being more competitive than the next. I enjoy a challenge in soccer because I like to be pushed to be the best player I can be. I also like to be able to inspire others around me to be the best they can be by being a leader.
I currently play on the Huntsville Futbol Club(HFC) '00 Blue D1 team(4 years), Alabama '99 ODP state team(3 years), and am a member of my high school's Varsity soccer team(2 years). I was a starter as a freshman on Varsity and have earned the starting spot again as a sophomore. I was a captain of the HFC '00 Blue 2013-14 soccer team. I will be traveling to Spain to take part in the Donosti Cup in July 2016 with my HFC team. I was invited but unfortunately could not attend the ODP Region Camp in 2014, but I went in 2015 and will most likely be invited to attend again in July 2016.
I take my academics very seriously and want to go to college and get a biomedical engineering degree. I aspire to be an orthopedic doctor. I am ranked number one in my class. I am a member of my school's Student Council, Key Club, DECA, National Spanish Honor Society, and HOSA. I enjoy taking part in school activities and supporting the different athletics. I also am very involved in my church's youth group. I am a member of the Youth Leadership Team at First United Methodist Church in Decatur, AL, and have taken part in 3 mission trips including one to Jamaica in July 2015. I like to help locally and love to talk and help with the developmental program at school. When I'm older I want to take whatever career path I choose to help the Developmental and disabled community.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me!
Susan
