Summer Burress '21 Recruiting Profile

Since the first time I played soccer, I knew that it would become a passion of mine, but I didn’t realize its significance until my freshman year. At that time, I realized I could take the skills learned over the course of my many years spent playing soccer in the U.S. and Europe to a new level, the collegiate level. While I’ve had many great experiences playing soccer, I’ve also had to overcome the obstacle of moving every few years and finding a new soccer club due to the military. Although this is an inconvenience, it has caused me to become extremely adaptable in life and as a player. 

Throughout my soccer career, I have been fortunate enough to train with multiple coaches and learn their individual techniques and styles of play. This has allowed me to obtain an open mind, and value the meanings of effort, teamwork, support, commitment, and reliability. I’m looking for a program that has these same values, and will also challenge me both academically and athletically. I truly believe I will have a positive impact on your program with my talent, work ethic, dependability, and unique character.
