Personal Statement
I started playing soccer when our school needed help getting a team. I never really played but thought,"Why not?" I went to one practice and after a while I was not feeling it at all until Coach put me in goal. I didn't have gloves but when I made that first save that's when I realized that soccer is my sport. We were a new team and no one really played before but we pulled up to our first game. We played our hearts out and I was busy but I did not care it was the time of my life. After the game I was told I made 18 saves but let 3 goals in. I had an instinct to know when to go and get the ball and when to stay on my line. On field I instruct my team mates of where and who to pay attention to. Off the field I take criticism and put it into making myself better. In school I know that the work ethic I put on the field needs to go into the classroom because grades are just as important as skill. I can't get into a college just on soccer. One thing I can promise is I will play as hard as I can for as long as I can. Right now I am recovering from ACL and medial meniscus surgery. Throughout this recovery I learn so much about myself. I learned that you have to hit rock bottom and climb your way up in order to get better. I really was not a patient person but I have to be so I can get better sooner.
A quote that sticks to me everyday:
Don't practice until you get it right. Practice until you can't get it wrong.
