My sophomore year of high school I was able to make the varsity team. However, we had a rough season and lost almost every game. That experience taught me what it is to step up and be a leader when you see the need no matter your age. It also taught me that hard work is the only way I am going to achieve my goals.
After that season I learned that I had to change myself to be beneficial to the team. It taught me that if I want something I will have to work for it, it’s not going to be handed to me. I have learned from living in a small town with not many opportunities that it is going to take personal sacrifice to get to where I want to be, not only in soccer but in life. My experienced have molded me into what I am today and brought me to the level I have reached and hope to improve on.
