Stephanie White '16 Recruiting Profile

My primary focus has been on achieving my goal of playing collegiate soccer, as well as academic excellence.  I would like to play soccer for a university that excels in soccer as well as academics.  Currently, I play soccer at the Premier level for the San Diego Surf Soccer Club (one of the top clubs in the country) and have been a member of the Del Norte High School Varsity Soccer Team for my freshman, sophomore and junior years. During this same time, I have kept my school grades at all As while taking difficult classes, including both Honors (English & Humanities) and AP classes (Calculus AB, Biology, US History, Calculus BC and English). My goal, and my own personal challenge, is to shoot for that same level of success in my life after college. Being a part of an athletic team provides a special bond and release that helps me to balance the demands of school work and life in general. Additionally, I have enjoyed being a member of the National Charity League, Poway Chapter, for the past 4 years.  I have devoted at least 65 hours of community service to various charitable organizations each year.  I have focused a lot of my volunteer time at the San Diego Humane Society. For two summers, I volunteered as a camp counselor for the SDHS children's summer animal camps.  In recognition of my community service, I have received several awards, including the Presidential Award for Community Service for the past 3 years.  I am also working toward earning my Congressional Gold Medal.   My desire is to perform at the highest level no matter the challenge or task. I believe that constantly challenging myself, aiming high, and working through the hurdles necessary to conquer those challenges will best prepare me for anything I will face on the field or off. I am willing to take on the hard work and the results that come with it, and enjoy the team environment.  My hope is to keep pursuing both throughout college. If I can do that, the sky is the limit for life after college.
