Hi my names Sherlin Castillo-Ruvalcaba! I am 17 and about to be a senior. My birthday is December 9 so I will be 18 soon but besides the general stuff here’s why I’m different from the rest. I started my interest in soccer at the age of 8 my dad would go play with his team and we would always watch soccer every chance we got. Once I reached junior high I started playing soccer and taking it seriously I became one the toughest on the team to the point where my leadership got me to be the captain of the team. Once i became a freshmen I really tried my hardest to put myself up there and I did because once I was in my sophomore year I could do goalkeeper, defense, midfielder, and forward position I was able to do any position I was put in. During sophomore year I became captain and really tried to be a leader to the girls on the team because a lot of them never played so I was happy to be someone they could ask help from. Shortly the pandemic hit and we were all locked away so I started losing hope for soccer but I started gaining my hope for soccer and I put my all in it any chance I got so now as a soon to be senior I have been keeping my body healthy and ready for the field many things happen at home but soccer is my escape and I can’t wait for more opportunities.
