My name is Montserrat Marroquin, and I am a Senior female at the California Academy of Mathematics and Science. As I enter college I am undeclared, but interested in majors concerning engineering and business. I’ve played soccer since I was 6, but officially started playing in teams starting at the age of 8. I’ve played in almost everything; AYSO, indoor, Older women teams, Sunday leagues, Clubs, Coed teams, and even school lunch teams with the boys. I am without a doubt interested in playing college soccer for a great team and great coach. Although I am a right dominant player, I can dribble, shoot, and pass with my left. I can play and have experience in every position, except goalie. My best work comes from playing offensive middle center. In order to stay fit and challenge myself I’ve chosen to be an all year athlete for all three years of highschool. It would be all 4 years but unfortunately covid-19 has put sports on pause my senior year. The three sports I participate in are tennis, soccer, and track. I have been co-captain for both tennis and soccer for 2 years and put as co-captain multiple times for one year in each. While I kept my gpa high to play sports for school, I was always doing club soccer outside of school. I’ve learned the importance of vision, speed, and technical speed. Everyday I aim to improve in dribbling, passing/collecting, defending, and shooting. I am the player who will step up to take corners, step up to a position, and step up to your level as best as I can just to try and overpass it. I hope you can see the potential I hold as a player, and can make my dreams of playing on your team a reality. You can count on me to make every game, and every practice if given the opportunity. In addition, I will put my best foot forward by showing great sportsmanship and being the player most likely to get the least cards/take outs from the referee. Thank you for your time and consideration.
