Personal Statement
I am a 5’5" center attacking midfielder attending Gunn High School in Palo Alto, California. I started playing soccer when I was 5, living in Las Vegas, fell in love with the sport, and have not looked back. I had the honor of being captain of my first club team (Palo Alto Soccer Club). In 2015, I transitioned to Juventus Soccer Club as I was looking to play on a more competitive team and played with the Premiere level Ragazze ’01 team. While playing with Juventus, I was invited to the California state ODP tryouts in 2015. Then in 2016, I was invited to tryout for the U-16 Philippine National team. As a finalist, I declined the opportunity to qualify for a team roster that played in AFC (Asian Football Federation) as the time commitment would have required much time away from school. Most recently, I was invited to join the Guam Women's National Team. Games will start fall 2018 in Asia.
I have a huge love and respect for the game of soccer. Any time I am on a field, no matter the situation, I put my best effort forward. I also understand that good sportsmanship and having a strong work ethic are just as important as field performance. And, I demonstrate my team leadership by continually pumping up the team before games and staying positive within a game.
As a student athlete, I am interested in a school that offers strong sports nutrition, biology or general science programs. I hope to attend a school on the west coast, but am willing to look beyond if the fit is right. My goal is to attend an outstanding academic school with a solid soccer program, where my skills, enthusiasm and commitment will greatly impact a team.
