I am a 5'2" attacking central midfielder for Corinthians Soccer Club and Falcon High School in Colorado. I began playing soccer when I was five; the team I played for was very laid-back. Then, one tournament, we played against an excellent team called the Indians. They won the tournament having only one goal scored on them, by me. Their coach saw my potential and invited me to join their team. As we grew older and began playing competitively, the team grew, though the core group of girls remained. Once tryouts came around, however, our rival club began to convince some of our players to leave us and join them. Each year since, they have continued to take more and more players from us. The greatest obstacle I have faced as a player is to watch my teammates, whom I have created strong friendships with, abandon our club year after year. We are left every year with just enough girls to field a team. In the end, it has made me a stronger player because every time we lose a players, we must come together as a team and work that much harder to be excellent. Being one of the only original members left and having experienced this process for so long, I specifically have to motivate the others to overcome.
On the field, I am a very fast, technical player. I excel using both of my feet equally well, though I score more often with my left. I have a strong leg which I use to deliver through balls to the outside midfielders as well as shots from outside the eighteen. Though I am small, I am physical and I do not allow anyone to push me around. Besides central midfielder, I can also play forward and outside midfielder.
My academic goals include keeping all A's and B's throughout high school. So far, freshman year, I have been able to maintain straight A's. In college I plan to major in Secondary Education as I would like to attain a career as a middle school Language Arts teacher. I also hope to participate as much as possible in school activities. Going into the next year, I am a member of Student2Student and the National Honor Society.
