Personal Statement
I am a 5'9'' Center Back from Denver, CO. I play club soccer for the Rapids Youth Soccer club and have for 13 years. I am a person who likes to work on and off the field to achieve my goals. I strive to get better and overcome challenges that come my way. I play numerous sports for my school and swim club. I have always enjoyed the competition and community that comes with playing a sport. My goal for college is to play at the highest level possible and continue to get better and advance my skill.
I come from a family of athletes that all played college sports. My father, brother, and mother played basketball, and all have either played or worked for the NBA. I wish to follow in their footsteps and continue my passion for soccer in college. I am looking for a school where I can play soccer and still receive a good education and degree. Ideally, in my athletics, I want to be challenged and pushed to be better. I want a program that will allow me to reach my goals and, at the same time, have academic classes that will advance my intellect. Through my two years of high school, I have been a multi-sport athlete and, at the same time, maintained a 4.035 GPA. I have always pushed myself in athletics and academics, and I wish to continue that in college.
Outside of playing soccer, you can usually find me playing basketball or swimming. This past year I finished my varsity season of basketball off with a district championship game and, in the past year of swimming, finished top ten in the state for the one hundred breaststroke. In all the sports I play, I have taken leadership roles, which led to my being named captain on multiple teams. I always look to take on the new challenges and always try to push my team to the next level despite challenging circumstances.
