Personal Statement
My name is Zoe Verdensky and I started playing soccer when I was six and have fell in love ever since. It has been my dream to play soccer in college and have been striving for it my whole life.
Being a keeper is a challenge, you always have a big weight on your shoulders. I choose this position because I can handle the stress and pressure that this job brings. Being a goalie you can't hide or be timid, you have to be a leader and come out as hard as you can to save the ball and defend the net. I work hard to be the best person I can be on and off the field no matter what the obstacle is in front of me.
I know I will be an asset on any team that I play for. I am not like all typical soccer players, I grew up on the water and have extensive fishing knowledge. I have volunteered for Old Salt Fishing Foundation helping them with kids fishing clinics, small on the water one on one fishing trips with special needs kids and helped them during large fishing tournaments at check in for the past 10 years.
I also was a girls scout for 6 years. I earned my bronze and silver awards, which not many girls do. And yes, I sold my fair share of cookies over the years. Being a girl scout early on helped me learn team building skills, raised my knowledge of community awareness and helped me develop good social skills.
